Village Groups

Watlington Under Fives

Hello Welcome to the Watlington Under Fives Toddler Group

What? Who?  Well, we are a group of mums and dads who meet every Wednesday during school term from 9.45am-11.45am at Watlington village hall. We sit and chat while our small people run around and let off steam.

What will you get out of it? Whatever you want really, if you are a first time parent or are new to the village, it’s the chance to make friends and talk about your experiences; who knows, you may discover that what you feel is normal and that your child isn’t the spawn of the devil after all!  Or, if you are an old hand then sit back and let someone else tidy up after you for a change.

What will your child get out of it? Space to play and run around in a safe environment, and the chance to socialise with other children. (Your child’s safety remains your responsibility at all times)

What’s it like? It’s in a large hall with an area that’s carpeted and surrounded by chairs for us, and toys for babies.  The rest of the hall has a range of toys for older children, including a slide, a trampoline, and trikes etc.  We provide tea and coffee for the adults and juice and biscuits for the children.  If you bottle feed there is a fridge to keep your formula cold.  Or, if you breast feed you are welcome to do so where you sit, or if you would rather have a quiet corner somewhere, tell us and we can sort something out for you.

How much is it? Your first session is free so you can see if you like it. We have a membership scheme; it works out cheaper over the year if you join. It also entitles you to a free outing in the summer and a Christmas party. It costs £5.00 to join and costs £1.00 per session for one child and 50p for every additional child.  If you don’t join it costs £1.50 per session and 75p for every additional child.

I hope this has answered your questions. There is a copy of our Newsletter on this web site, it has details of forthcoming events.

Regards, Mandy, (Chairwoman)
