WUF's Newsletter
Feb/March 2004
Hello
We (the new committee), thought it was about time we introduced ourselves and told you some of the things we have planned for the coming months.
The committee that runs the group now consists of nine members: Toni-Treasurer, Maria and Nick – Joint Secretaries, Mandy-Chairwoman, Lisa, Jancy, Cheryl, Sam and Ros are general committee members. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your assistance in packing away the toys and chairs, I am afraid we have to start this at 11.30am as we have another group using the hall at noon.
Has your toddler eaten your lipstick and your mascara dried up?
When you last bought a round of drinks for 4 people did it come to less than £3.00?
Do you think Bacardi Breezer is a type of exotic fruit?
If you have answered Yes to just one of these questions then I’m afraid that you need a GIRLIE NIGHT OUT. It can just be for drinks or drinks and a meal, whatever the majority fancies. We would keep it local so we don’t have to drive and we wouldn’t be too far from our little ones. Please let us know if you would like to do this.
March 24th – Grandparents Day/Tempest Photography
We have arranged for Tempest Photography to visit again, and this time we would also like to invite all grandparents to come along with you and your children, perhaps to have your pictures taken together? Refreshments will be free as usual and if you have the urge to bake a cake and bring it along that would be great. However, we are trying to raise money so there will be a charge of £1.00 per grandparent.
If you would like to book a slot, please write your child/ren’s name down on the sheet, together with the names of any adults you wish to include in the photos. Please note time is limited, so if demand is high it will be done on a first come first served basis. Maximum group size will be 4 to 5.
March 31st –Easter Session
Mmmmm, cinnamon, nutmeg, hot melting butter. Buy you hot-cross buns here! Lovely buns, get ‘em while they are hot, C’mon you know you want to. Also, the children can make an Easter card and receive an Easter nest (courtesy of our very own domestic goddess -Sam) to put their chocolate eggs in.
7th April – Open Day / Car Boot Sale
As it is half term we thought we could have an open day from 9.30am-noon. We are hoping to provide craft activities, face painting, clothes stalls, pottery, toys for sale, cakes (if you bake and bring them, ta everso) and a bouncy castle. Norfolk County Council Road Safety Officer, Mr. Sandy Reed will also be on hand to check your child safety seats. Sonya Moss will also be dropping in. If you would like a stall to sell your wares, then please speak to a member of the committee. There will be a £5.OO charge for each stall.
June (date to be confirmed)
Big toddle for Barnardo’s
What is it? Well….. “it’s a sponsored half mile walk for children under 5. Thousands of pre-schools, Mother and Toddler groups and nurseries raised over £838,870 for Barnardo’s last year. It’s an easy, fun event and it’s all about children helping children, and we get to keep 25% of the money we raise. So it’s a win win situation then! Whoopee!
We hope that you will support these activities and that you and your little ones enjoy yourselves.
Well that about wraps it up. So ta ta for now
