WATLINGTON PARISH COUNCIL
PLAY EQUIPMENT FOR THE VILLAGE
RECREATION GROUND & WARREN CLOSE PLAY AREA
The Parish Council is currently seeking grants to provide new play equipment in the village. The project has now been divided into two phases to make it easier to start getting some new equipment installed both at the Recreation Ground and the Warren Close Play Area. The Council has currently promised up to £3900 towards the project but needs your help if a full range of modern play equipment is to be installed.
PHASE 1 Play Equipment for the 2-5 age group
The Parish Council has made applications for grants to cover the cost of providing this equipment as well as using some of its own funds. However, additional community support would be welcomed. If applications are successful installation will take place early in 2005.
PHASE 2 Play Equipment for older aged school children (5-12)
The Council will be making renewed grant applications for funding for this equipment but is in need of community support to help ensure that the fund target of approximately £40,000 is met. It is hoped that there will be sufficient funds to include one large multi-play unit in this phase of the project.
What can you do to help?
Do you own or work for a company that might be willing to sponsor an item of equipment for the play area or help towards the overall fund?
Do you have fund raising skills that would be useful for this project?
Do you have other skills that might be useful to help save money for the play equipment?
If you can answer yes to either of the above, please contact any member of the Parish Council’s Community Projects Committee or the Parish Clerk:
